Male vinegar eels produce sperm. Female vinegar eels produce eggs. The female can store the sperm in the original repository for future preparation.
A sperm and an egg consolidate and develop into a new vinegar eel. Male vinegar eels are usually smaller than female vinegar eels. This is the case for most nematodes.
